The consortium was formed in response to the Housing Corporation’s policy ‘Re-inventing Investment’ which introduced the concept of larger organisations receiving social housing grants from the Housing Corporation.

The Northern Lights Group consists of 7 registered social landlords principally based in the North West, but operating across the whole of the North of England, with some partners also operating in the Midlands and East of England.

A key objective is to assist our local authority partners in achieving their regional housing strategies, by developing much needed housing in the North and addressing the requirements of local authority area agreements.

Our aim is to bid and receive allocations to develop new homes. So far Northern Lights Group partners have successfully bid and received Social Housing Grant to produce a range of new or refurbished properties.
